Read to Succeed!

On October 18, 2011, LINC held a festive cocktail reception and silent auction to ensure that all young children have the support they need to be strong readers. With the support of our generous donors, we raised critical funds to build literacy-rich communities throughout New York City.

The event was emceed by Nick Jr.’s Blue’s Clues host Donovan Patton, and honored Nickelodeon with the 2011 Corporate Award and Public School 189 with the 2011 Community Award for their respective exceptional work promoting literacy among children.

Nickelodeon empowers children by offering them access to the educational resources they need to be successful in their lives through grassroots activities, events, and programming.

P.S. 189 was recognized for its long-standing commitment to partnering with parents and the greater Washington Heights community to create a literacy-rich learning environment.
