LINC is delighted to announce that Jordan Halpern-Leistner has joined our Board of Directors. Jordan is a Principal at Silver Lake, a leading global technology investment firm. He has spent his entire professional career at Silver Lake, initially joining the firm as an Analyst. Jordan graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and has an MBA from Harvard Business School.

What attracted you to Literacy Inc. and excited you about joining the board?
Given how important early education and literacy are to a child's development, it's exciting to be a part of an organization so focused on empowering communities and families to improve the literacy skills of young children.
Why do books or reading matter in the life of a child?
Reading provides an opportunity to explore the world beyond one's immediate surroundings, and bond with the important adults in a child's life.
What was your favorite book as a kid?
My favorites were Berenstain Bears and anything from Dr. Seuss.
What are you reading right now, and why?
Right now I mostly read non-fiction. It allows me to think about perspectives different from my own in a deeper way than the soundbites you get from other forms of media.
