LINC will Honor Mark Rudd, Tracy Dockray, and Susan and Harry Newton at its 2020 Spring Gala

Bringing the Joy of Reading to NYC Children

Tickets are now on sale for LINC’s Spring Gala, a night of celebration in support of LINC’s community literacy model that transforms the lives of more than 13,500 children and awakens the leadership potential of more than 6,800 parents across New York City. The 2020 Spring Gala will take place on Wednesday, April 22 at 6:30pm at The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers in New York City.

Our theme “Bringing the Joy of Reading to NYC Children” will mirror LINC’s efforts to harness the power that exists in every community to make literacy a right for all children, and this year’s honorees are no strangers to our work.

Tracy Dockray & Mark Rudd

Mark and Tracy share a love of reading. A retired attorney, Mark is an advocate and supporter of mission-driven organizations. Tracy is an author and illustrator of children's books. She hopes to help create lifelong readers through her work in libraries and through LINC's continuing efforts. Bright Dreams, her latest book, will be released this fall.

Susan & Harry Newton

Susan and Harry Newton have been an important part of the LINC family for decades. Susan is a former early childhood teacher and was a key Board member during LINC’s formative years. In 1997, Harry sold the technology publishing business he started after graduating from business school. Currently, Harry writes a daily blog "In Search of the Perfect Investment."

LINC’s Spring Gala has grown into LINC’s premier fundraising event attracting over 300 supporters from across the New York Metropolitan Area. This year’s venue, The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers offers spectacular waterfront views of the Hudson River and the impeccable menu of renowned chief, Abigail Kirsch.

Join us for a night you won’t forget, all while helping us to create a culture where reading is highly visible and valued across all communities in New York City.

Proceeds from this event will provide the critical funds LINC needs every year to run successful programs and services.
