Tracy Dockray, Renowned Children’s Book Author and Illustrator, Partners with Literacy Inc.

Updated: Mar 5, 2020

Literacy Inc. (LINC) is proud to announce a partnership with Tracy Dockray, renowned children’s book author and illustrator of many popular editions, including Beverly Cleary’s Ramona, Ralph the Mouse, and Henry Huggins series.

Longtime supporters of Literacy Inc. (LINC), Tracy Dockray and her husband, retired attorney and philanthropist Mark Rudd, are committed to helping LINC nurture emerging readers and fostering a culture of reading in communities affected by poverty. To raise awareness, much-needed funding, and mobilize the publishing community to support LINC’s mission, Tracy and Mark will host an art auction and private reception benefitting LINC’s community literacy programming.

This event will take place Wednesday, March 31st, at Tracy and Mark’s lovely Greenwich Village home. The auction will feature, in addition to her own original illustrations, the artwork of fellow award-winning children’s book illustrators, including Melissa Iwai, Will Moses, Roxie Munro, Anita Lobel, Paul Zelinsky, Dan Yaccarino, and more!

Tracy’s whimsical drawings enliven over 21 books, two of which she wrote herself. Her bestsellers include Grimm's Grimmest, Delia at the Delano, and Beverly Cleary's highly popular Ramona Series as well as Lost and Found Pony, the Ralph the Mouse books, and the Henry Huggins series...According to Tracy, drawing pictures for children’s books is the finest art she knows. Her forthcoming book, Bright Dreams, will be released this fall.

Because of their outstanding commitment to children and literacy, Tracy and Mark will be honored at LINC’s 2020 Spring Gala on April 22 at The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers. LINC could not be more pleased to celebrate their contributions. We are proud to have their support during this critical time of accelerated growth and as we approach our 25th anniversary.
