Register to Ride and You Can Support Young Readers in all Five Boroughs of New York City
The world’s largest urban bike ride is back, the TD Five Boro Bike Tour will take place on Sunday, August 22, 2021 and Literacy Inc. (LINC) has been selected as a beneficiary of this iconic fundraising event. Ride with us and help bring the joy of reading to more little New Yorkers. Organized by Bike New York and sponsored by TD Bank, this annual ride was cancelled last year due to the pandemic making this year more exciting than ever. Roll through the streets of all five boroughs of New York City carefree and take in the sights and sounds you missed during the world’s largest charitable bike ride. The 40-mile, car-free Tour begins in Lower Manhattan (the start line is at Franklin St. and Church St., with entrance points for each of the start waves running south along Church to Battery Park), heads north through the heart of Central Park, and continues on to Harlem and the Bronx before returning south along the East River on the FDR Drive. From there, cyclists cross into Queens and then into Brooklyn, where riders take over the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway before the heart-pumping climb up—and thrilling ride down—the breathtaking Verrazano-Narrows Bridge and into the Finish Festival on Staten Island. Join LINC and 20,000 cyclists from all walks of life, representing every state in the nation and dozens of countries around the world as we come together again to support the little readers of these five boroughs. LINC is recruiting 5-10 riders to raise necessary funds that directly benefit our community reading programs and help put free, high-quality books in children’s hands. Entrance fees are waived for all our riders with a minimum fundraising goal of $1K in benefit of LINC. Our development team will help you to craft your fundraising campaign and support you with the tips and tools to succeed. Pre-register now to secure your spot in the biggest cycling event of the year! For more information, contact Eliana Godoy at email@example.com.
