We invite you to join a  Design Sprint  focused on advancing literacy coherence in early childhood care settings — from birth to kindergarten—all in service of ensuring a fully literate school-age population in NYC. We will have multiple sessions, both in-person and virtual, and invite you to pick the date which works best for you. Our Goal: All School-Aged Children in NYC are fully literate by 2035! Early childhood is where the foundation for literacy is built and early childhood providers and programs are at the heart of that work. Research shows that early language and literacy skills are powerful predictors of long-term academic success. Babies, toddlers and preschoolers are cared for and learning in all kinds of settings across the city. This Design Sprint will bring together a diverse, cross-sector coalition to co-create a shared vision and actionable strategies for better aligning early childhood literacy efforts with NYC Reads— so we can maximize the impact of all our work.
