Competition and Camaraderie Makes a Great Fundraiser: PAC Trivia Night

On April 22, 2021, LINC’s Professional Advisory Council (PAC) hosted their second Virtual Trivia Night fundraiser. The PAC came together with their friends and family to spread awareness about LINC, and to recognize World Book Day. Guests were invited to tap into a curated playlist through Spotify and were also provided with a recipe for a literary-based cocktail, the Tequila Mockingbird.

Word Up Community Bookshop

PAC Member Adam Brutocao’s family team, the Brutocao Bunch, came ready to play for a chance to win a gift card to Bookshop.org, a site that supports local bookstores like the Word Up Bookstore in Washington Heights - one of LINC’s neighbors and longtime partner organizations.

PAC Co-Chair Tim Wojcik was the esteemed emcee of the night, leading players through five riveting rounds of questions about science, sports, and of course, books! The final round tested the contestants’ knowledge about LINC.

The PAC raised $2,231 through this night of competition and camaraderie. Proceeds from this event will help put free, high-quality books in the hands of children throughout New York City. Congratulations to Team M&M led by PAC Member Meredith Wallner for winning first place, and to The Wine Club led by PAC Member Correa Reyes who won second place and scored some snazzy new LINC swag as their prize.

Special thanks to PAC Member John Urban for sharing his subscription to the virtual trivia platform Crowdpurr and to everyone who supported this wonderful event. We look forward to hosting more creative PAC-led events in the near future.
