What We Do
LINC’s unique 2Gen model connects resources that already exist in the community, leveraging them to surround families with literacy-rich environments. This is how we nurture a culture of literacy at the neighborhood level and generate lasting change.
Our Programs
Throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, and Staten Island, our programs connect Family, School and Community and ensure that books are available and that children have access to reading and reading support. It has been proven that children who read more have a higher level of achievement.
Our Results
LINC’s internal evaluation team, working in conjunction with the consulting firm Apter & O’Connor, measure the efficacy of LINC programing using evidence-based research. We are proud to lead City Council’s: City’s First Readers Initiative and the Pinkerton Read’s Program to ensure the best possible programming for our cohorts.
