LINC Celebrates Women’s History Month with Our Annual Wear Your Crown Virtual Program for Families

On Wednesday, March 6 LINC’s dynamic Content & Delivery Team made history again with their annual Wear Your Crown virtual program. Wear Your Crown is a special event that takes place every March in honor of Women’s History Month and pays tribute to all of the women in our lives.

This year’s program included a bilingual read-aloud of A Crown for Corina by Laekan Zea Kemp and illustrated by Elisa Chavarri, as well as a flower naming game, a drawing lesson, and a crown-making craft activity. Over 40 participants gathered online and by the end of the session, many were eager to debut their newly created crowns.

Did you know that the flower of International Women’s Day is the Mimosa? According to Corina’s story and the Mexican tradition, the flowers in our crowns represent who we are and where we come from. Our crowns are great symbols of the women who are making an impact in our lives, and at LINC there are plenty of them.

We would like to thank the fearless leaders, the ladies of LINC, as well as our Very Involved Parents (VIPs) Jaijashree Singh, Edith Corona, Beatriz Fermin, Cecilia Oran, Amelia Moreno, Amanda Pereira and LINC’s Content & Delivery Team for making this a special event.

Remember to honor the women in your life, and that together, we are stronger!
