Summer may look different this year, but summer isn’t cancelled! Whether we come together virtually or in person, New York City families can always count on LINC. We are offering a variety of quality learning opportunities and critical support throughout the summer and through COVID-19.
LINC is proud and excited to kick off National Summer Learning Week from July 6-11, 2020. Just as LINC’s other programs, our annual Summer Learning opportunities have adapted to a virtual environment. This program will culminate July 10th with a special celebration on National Summer Learning Day. Over 100 LINC families will read and participate in literacy activities with I Wonder, the imaginative children’s story by Kari Ann Holt.
LINC has been using innovative ways to incorporate summer learning into summer fun for almost 25 years and this year we will do it virtually. Together, we will create great memories right from the comfort of our home. LINC’s summer programs are designed to keep kids engaged because we know that summer programs improve math and reading skills, and also build critical social and emotional abilities. These are crucial skills that help kids not only in school but also in their life. Summer learning is essential to closing the achievement gap, conquering the literacy crisis that is prevalent in New York City.
Join LINC on Friday, July 10, 2020 as we celebrate National Summer Learning Day and explore the importance and limitless possibilities of imagination through the whimsical story, I Wonder. In addition to the literacy program activities, this summer LINC will be running a special #SummerLearning Challenge on Instagram for five lucky winners.
