Updated: Dec 20, 2024

Save the date!

This January, Literacy in Community (LINC) will offer a professional development opportunity for those who work in Reads Schools and early learning centers across Reads’ three neighborhoods: East Harlem, South Jamaica, and East New York.

It's called Weaving it all Together: Using the Reading Rope to Drive Joyful Family Engagement in Literacy and focuses on play-based learning and family engagement powered by the science of reading.

The workshop begins on Monday, January 6, and will have four sessions on January 6,13, 27 and February 3 which will take place at 2:30pm.

Educators will build their knowledge of the science of reading, spanning topics such as the simple view of reading, the reading rope, the development of phonological awareness, orthographic mapping and more, learning games each step of the way that they can send home to families and/or play with their students in the classroom. Digital copies of all game materials and instructions will be provided in each session.

Don't miss this opportunity. If you work with a Reads school or learning center, register now at: bit.ly/schoolhome25.
