Literacy Inc. is thrilled to announce that the #1 The New York Times bestselling author Adam Rubin has agreed to be our 2019 Giving Tuesday ambassador. Adam is the author of ten critically-acclaimed picture books, including the Those Darn Squirrels trilogy, Dragons Love Tacos, Dragons Love Tacos 2: The Sequel, Secret Pizza Party, Robo-Sauce and El Chupacabras (short-listed for the 2018 Texas Blue Bonnet award). With Adam's support, LINC decided to make one of our favorite books, Dragons Love Tacos a running theme in our upcoming Giving Tuesday campaign, #TacoBoutBooks on December 3. Connecting LINC's mission with Adam's story has been a great deal of fun for us and we want to inspire children everywhere to "taco bout" their favorite book. We know that food and books have special places in our lives and what better way to fire up a love of reading than "taco'ing" about books. LINC first partnered with Adam in early October at the Word Up Community Bookstore in Washington Heights for a day of reading and eating which was a huge hit with our families. Adam's read aloud of Dragons Love Tacos in Spanish and English had both children and parents roaring with laughter before enjoying their very own homemade taco party. It's no wonder Adam was an honoree of The E.B. White Read Aloud Award in 2018!
